Missionary Support: Praying, Communicating, and Working Together for Christ

Connect

As members of a church, it’s important for us to connect with the missionaries we support, not only to encourage them in their work but also to participate in the spreading of the Gospel. In the KJV Bible, Romans 10:15 says, “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

Prayer

Prayer is an essential part of connecting with our supported missionaries. We should pray for them daily, asking God to give them strength and wisdom in their ministry. Colossians 4:2 reminds us to “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.” In prayer, we can also lift up the ministry burdens that our missionaries may be facing. Galatians 6:2 says, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” As we share in their burdens, we can help lift them up and encourage them in their work.

Communication

Communications is another important aspect of connecting with our missionaries. We should make an effort to stay in touch with them, whether it’s through email, letters, or video calls. This can help us stay up to date on their ministry and offer support and encouragement when needed. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” By communicating regularly, we can build a strong relationship with our missionaries and help them feel supported and loved.

Accountability

Accountability is also crucial in our relationship with our missionaries. We should hold them accountable to the mission and vision of the church and ensure that their work is aligned with our values and beliefs. At the same time, we should also be accountable to them, supporting them in any way we can. Hebrews 10:24 says, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.” Through accountability, we can help our missionaries stay focused on their mission and ensure that their work is making a positive impact on the world.

The Work

Finally, we should take an active interest in the work that our missionaries are doing to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and fulfill the Great Commission. Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” By learning about their ministry and supporting their efforts, we can take part in this important work and help bring salvation to those who have not yet heard the Gospel.

Wrap Up

In conclusion, connecting with our supported missionaries is not only important for their well-being but also for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Through prayer, ministry burdens, communication, accountability, and interest in their work, we can help our missionaries make a lasting impact on the world and share the love of Jesus Christ with all nations.
